Helen scheduled all our annual re-qualification training at work, for years and years.

She was part of our breakfast group into retirement. We had many high volume(loud) and good laugh conversations.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I met your mom at our retired breakfast club and knew right away that we would be good friends. She certainly knew how to liven up a conversation and laugh! She could get us all laughing! We will miss her and I wish we had been friends longer.

Hello and my sincerest condolences to all of Helen’s family and friends. She had the heart of an angel and we all knew this. I have known Helen since she started with York Regional Police as I’m sure her first position was in Training – and I was there at the time. I have very fond memories of a woman who was so nervous coming into our crazy environment and doing everything we could to make it work for her. From the moment I met Helen, I knew she was a person filled with kindness, determination, humour and love. Please know that we all adored your mother, grandma, aunt and sister. She was a true delight.

She always had a positive disposition and a knack for delivering one-liners that kept everyone laughing.

What a life well-lived. Helen was such a great part of YRP for so long. She really had fun with it, took care of our members so well. I always loved my interactions with her as she was so upbeat and fun. I hold her family in my prayers for strength and comfort in this time of loss.

My heartfelt sympathy to all of Helens family and friends. She and I both worked in administrative roles with YRP and it was always a pleasure to chat with Helen when I needed something from the District or Training Branch. She was certainly my go to person. I am sure her friendly smile and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew her. May happy memories help to ease your sadness.

Many years ago I was the officer-in-charge of the Training Branch when it was located at 4 District. What a pleasure it was to have Helen as my Administrative Assistant. Our office was in a small, dare I say cramped, area on the second floor. So I could easily hear Helen’s interactions with members either on the phone or in person at her desk. She was always welcoming, positive and many a time I found myself smiling at the way she was able to set somebody straight in a nice way. Helen made us laugh, even on those tough days. She was wonderful to work with.

My heartfelt condolences to Helen’s family. I will be travelling in Europe and unable to attend Helen’s Celebration of Life in October. But please rest assured that on that day I will have you in my thoughts and prayers.
