Howard passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a short battle with cancer. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane, his daughters Linda and Laura, sisters-in-law Audrey Stockdale, Willa Fitzpatrick (George) and brothers-in-law Thor Karlson and Paul Seymour (Jennie). Will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Jessica, Wes, Melissa and Carter, great-grandchild child Chloe and many friends. Predeceased by siblings Jean Karlson, Walter Stockdale and Mary Sandford.
Howard’s career at Kodak Canada spanned 35 years. After retirement, he was able to focus on his first loves; being a sportsman, and wood carving. Nothing gave Howard greater pleasure than introducing young people to his love for nature. Fishing and hunting at Rabbit Lake and camping with family and friends at Cedar Lake were his greatest joys. He’ll be remembered for his countless adventures, including trips to the Arctic and his love of harness racing.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date to share memories of Howie.

So many memories of Howard…an incredible, one of a kind man. I’ll always remember sneaking sips of his home made wine as a teen, him laughing at us when he found out, nature lessons, his huge smile…in his words, I think he was the “bees knees”.
My deepest condolences to all the family.

Posted on: Sunday, October 3, 2021Very fond memories of our many family camping vacations at Cedar Lake and our trips to the east and west coast including an Alaskan Cruise. Imerio never stopped talking about the trips to the NWT and Arctic. Now the Moose Camp boys (Howie, Walter, Lenny, Eric and Imerio) are altogether doing what they loved the most-Fishing in Heaven. Rest In Peace, Howard. Carlie Mattiuz and family
