Funeral Details: Celebration of Life to be held at a later date

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jakob “Jack” Igel on May 1st 2021 at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. He was born June 18th 1937 in Pirmasens, Germany. At the age of 18, he left his home for Canada.

Beloved husband of the late Pierrette “Perry” (nee Jolette), loving father of Randy Igel (Lesley) and Michelle Clark (Michael). Cherished grandfather “Opa” of Mackenzie, Kayla and Rebecca. He will be deeply missed by his adopted family, Dale, Laurie, Nathan, Brody and Madison, his family, friends and all who knew him.

He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his garden, spending time at the cottage fishing and hunting, but his very favourite was spending quality time with his 3 granddaughters. Walking to the beach or the playground kept the girls happy and Opa in shape. Even with life’s ups and downs, he always stayed positive entertaining everyone with jokes and stories.

Due to pandemic gathering restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the cancer foundation would be appreciated. https://www.cancer.ca/

Wally & I only met Jack once but it seemed like we knew him for years. Jack was a friendly, fun- loving guy with a wicked sense of humour! We’re saddened that such a wonderful person has left us. He’ll always have a special place in our hearts. We will give to the Canadian Cancer Association in rememberance of Jack.🙏🏻🤗

There are no words to describe the depth of sadness that our family is feeling with the loss of my Uncle Jack. Although not blood, growing up with the Igels…he was always my Uncle Jack. I am really going to miss him in so many ways especially his crazy and funny sense of humour. What a blessing it was taking him to British Columbia to visit my brothers family a few years ago. We had so many laughs and so much fun!
Michelle. Randy and family, sending you all our deepest condolences. Lots of love and Hugs to all of you. Patsy and Mike and family
