Funeral Details: A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church (65 Amelia St., Barrie) followed by a reception at the parish hall.
FORGET, Jacques André
Jacques Forget passed unexpectedly on July 25, 2023 at the age of 90. Beloved and devoted husband to the late Patricia Forget (née Journeaux). Loving father to son Michael Forget (Linda), and daughter Claudine Benoit (Claude). Cherished grandpa to Tyler, Caitlin, and Theodore, and great grandfather to Peyton and Gauge. Son of the late André Forget and Odette Picot (née Madelaine).
Jacques was born in Normandy, France. Through WWII he experienced loss, and developed resilience and strength that he carried with him throughout his life. Jacques and Patricia met as teenagers in Jersey, Channel Islands through ballroom dancing and competed together. They shared a lust for life and immigrated to Canada in the 1950s. Jacques had an appreciation for the great outdoors, lakes and seas, food, fine wine, and above all he loved his family and close friends. He made a lasting impression on all he encountered and he will be remembered and missed.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church located at 65 Amelia St., Barrie, on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10 a.m., followed by a reception at the parish hall.
