James Andrew Hayes

Funeral Details: Celebration of life to be held at a later time

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father in his 78th year. Jim passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2019 at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie with his family by his side. Jim was the loving husband of Ethel Poole (2013) and much-loved father of Jim Hayes Jr (Sharline) in Aruba and Marcy Hayes Miller (Rick) of Barrie. Proud and loving grandfather of Larissa, Samantha, Garret, and Dylan. Jim was predeceased by his mother Gertrude, brother Robert, and sister Wendy.

Jim was a long time, well respected employee who oversaw the operations of Dixon Canada. He had been retired for several years but was kept close to heart by many.  Jim was an avid golfer and had many great friends to enjoy it with. He enjoyed his visits to Aruba, Sunday dinners and cards and spending the holidays with the Miller family in Meaford.

Many thanks to all our family and friends for your support. Much appreciation to his fellow golfers and friends at Bear Creek Golf Club. Your visits and friendship throughout this hard time meant so much to him. We wish to thank all the kind staff at Whispering Pines for the great care of our father in his last few weeks.

Private cremation has taken place with a family ceremony at a later date.

I always enjoyed Jim’s gentlemanly presence as did we all during our weekly “golf off season Tuesday billiards day” @ Dunlop Billiards. Jim and I also had our common passion for Mustangs.

My condolences to Family from an acquaintance.

Jimmy was a terrific person. I golfed with Jimmy in Northern Michigan every spring. I will miss him, but always remember the fun times I had with him. The group will miss Jimmy. I am grateful for the time I had spent with him.
