James Edward Michael Eacock

It is with heavy and saddened hearts we announce the passing of our deeply loved son, James Eacock.  James passed away peacefully at Southlake Hospital on Monday, September 21, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

James was deeply cherished by his family, including his parents Alison and Roger; his aunts and uncles, Liz and Rob, Katrina and Moenes, Michael and Deborah, Graham and Estella, Jon and Rossanna.  He was a treasured cousin to Jennifer (Cam), Meagan, Robyn (Dani), Ashley (Gav), Justin (Britni), Jillian (Kyle), Sean (Cori), Liam (Marisa), Dylan, Evelyn, Zoe, Piper, Evelyn, Avery, Sutton, Hudson, Anna-Sofia, Olympia, Milo, and June.  He will be missed immeasurably by every member of his family and by his close friends, Isabella, Taryn, Izzy, Jack, and Jenny, and by the many CDS, Lighthouse and NMSA friends whose lives he touched.

James faced his illness with extraordinary courage, inspiring everyone who knew him. His life was never defined by cancer, but by the remarkable person he remained throughout it: brave, loving, funny, determined and full of life.  Though his time with us was far too short, his impact on our hearts is everlasting.

Proudly Canadian, James was an avid sports fan who passionately supported the Blue Jays, the Maple Leafs and F1.  He loved his role as a volunteer and coach with the Newmarket Minor Softball Association, sharing his love for the game with the community.

An avid photographer, James loved capturing the world around him and travelling, especially to his favourite beach in the Bahamas.  He enjoyed homemade pizza, hilarious memes, and bringing laughter into everyday life.  Above all, James loved his family and friends.  He created unforgettable memories and made ordinary moments special.

Though cancer took him too soon, it could not take his spirit, his courage, or the love he gave.  His family and friends will remember him as their warrior, sports fan, photographer, traveller, pizza lover, and source of laughter.

James, you fought a battle no one should ever have had to fight.  You fought it with courage, grace and incredible strength. We are so proud of you.

You are reunited with your best buddy, Jake, and welcomed with open arms by your loving Nana and Poppa, Grandpa and Grandma. Rest peacefully, our beautiful James. You will be loved forever.

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the medical teams at Sick Kids, Princess Margaret Hospital and Southlake Hospital for the exceptional and compassionate care provided to James throughout his journey.

A Memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Stonehaven Banquet Hall (63 Eric T Smith Way, Aurora, ON).  Family and friends are welcome to join us in honouring the life of James.

A private Celebration of Life will follow from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. by invitation.
