James “Jim” Lee McCaskill

March 15, 1952 - September 11, 2018


McCaskill, James “Jim” – Passed away at Hospice Simcoe on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 with loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Lynn (nee Mitchell); Proud and supportive father of Logan and Courtney; Loving brother of Sue Rhoads (Bill) and brother-in-law of Butch Mitchell (Lisa) and Dale Mitchell (Yoko); Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Loretta; Son-in-law of Ian and Carole Mitchell.  Jim will also be fondly remembered by Tracey Miller and her daughter Shilanda as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was the proud owner of ServiceMaster Barrie for 32 years.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to travel.  His sense of humour will always be remembered. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the nurses at Bayshore, with special mention to Nadia.  Many thanks to Hospice Simcoe for all their support and care in making Jim’s journey peaceful. A celebration of Jim’s life with be held at The Knights of Columbus Hall (93 Berczy Street, Barrie) on Saturday, September 29 from noon until 3:00.  Please dress as Jim would remember you – hats and jeans welcome. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the OSPCA Barrie or Hospice Simcoe.

    Lynn, Courtney and Logan I am so sorry to hear about Jim”s passing. I will always remember seeing Jim out side shoveling the snow off of the Merry Maid cars and keeping salt on the entrance to the building so it will be safe for us girls, he was such a hard worker. May god give you the strength for the days ahead and faith to know he is safe gods hands.
