Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held at the Barrie Legion, 420 St. Vincent Street on Monday, May 27, 2024 from 2-6 p.m.

Janet Lorraine Waechter (nee Dyer), passed away peacefully in her 73rd year on April 17, 2024 at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, ON

Janet will be profoundly missed by her loving husband Bill and devoted son Brett. Dear sister of Don, Rick and Karen (d) and sister-in-law to Jerry (Joanne), Jim (Lynn), Doug (Linda), Brian (Nancy), Ken (Nancy), Mike (Claudette) and Don (Lorraine). She will be fondly remembered by many, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Janet's life was a beautiful reflection of her deep appreciation for the wonders of the world. Her love for flowers, animals, and the vast beauty of nature knew no bounds. Whether it was the delicate petals of a rose or the gentle chirping of birds at dawn, Janet found joy in every aspect of the natural world.

Yet, it was not just nature that captivated Janet; she had an extraordinary capacity for love and compassion towards all beings. Her warmth and kindness extended to everyone she met, but it was within her family that her love truly shone brightest. She had a true lust for life and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Special thanks to all the staff and volunteers at the RVRHC Cancer Centre and Hospice Simcoe for all their caring and support. They truly are wonderful people inside and out.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Barrie Legion, 420 St. Vincent Street on Monday, May 27, 2024 from 2-6 p.m.

Donations in Janet’s name to the RVRHC Cancer Centre www.rvh.on.ca/areas-of-care/cancer-program or Hospice Simcoe www.hospicesimcoe.ca   would be greatly appreciated.

Jan was the type of neighbour that every neighborhood hopes for. She always kept a caring, watchful eye and greeted all neighbours with a friendly wave when you drove by. No matter how busy she was tending to her beautiful gardens, she always took time to chat and see how everyone was doing. Her presence in the neighborhood will be missed by all. Rest in peace Jan.

We met Jan as a wonderful neighbour…she left us as a cherished friend. She amazed us with her creativity in her art, her gardens and her sewing. Jan was kind, thoughtful, loving and fun. What more can you ask of a friend?

A beautiful soul we were so lucky know. We look back and recall many smiles, laughs and heartfelt conversations with Jan and her infectious smile that followed. Jan was the first to welcome our family to the neighbourhood, and became a familiar friend to all of us. Whether stoping for a conversation while she tended to her beautiful garden or a classic smile and wave as passing, your presence will forever be missed by all of us.
