Passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, at Hospice Simcoe, at the age of 63.

Janis was the much-loved daughter of Jeanne and David, and a devoted mother to Jennifer (Tyler) and Sean.  She was a proud and loving Nana to her cherished granddaughter Amelia and was joyfully awaiting the arrival of her second granddaughter.  Janis was a dear sister to Colin (Janet) and Craig, and a loving aunt to Jessica, Lindsay and Katie, who all remained by her side until the very end.  She was a great Gi-Gi to many nieces and nephews.

Janis was known for her strength and her unshakable spirit.  She faced life’s greatest challenge with grace and determination, never wavering from the values that defined her.  Outgoing and vibrant, Janis lit up every room she entered.  She found peace in nature and joy in laughter, always making the best of every situation.

A woman of unwavering morals, she was a pillar of strength and an exceptional role model to her children, whom she raised with love and determination on her own.  Her love for family was her greatest motivation and the reason she fought so fiercely to stay with them for as long as she could.

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be arranged in the early Fall by her daughter Jennifer, please check www.peacefultransition.ca for details as they will be posted there once arranged.
