It is with great sadness that the family of Jay Arthur Leslie Hewitt (61) announce his passing at

home with his family by his side on August 7th, 2022 after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.

Jay was the only son (born October 13, 1960) of Orville William Hewitt and Theresa Eleanor

Hewitt (nee Cloutier), (both predeceased) in Scarborough, Ontario and grew up in both the east

and west end of Toronto sharing his weekends with his family and grandmother and Aunt Marg

(predeceased).

Jay leaves behind his two beloved daughters, Krista Hewitt and son-in-law Mike Babineau,

Candace Hewitt and son-in-law Daniel Ricciardi, grandson Avery, loving sister Diane Kelly and

brother-in-law Ron Kelly, and beloved sister Candise Mather and brother-in-law Earl Mugford.

with Uncle Jay as will step son and daughter Ronnie and Aleisha Girard.

Jay worked as a craftsman in the restoration of historical churches, government and

architectural buildings and specialized in custom design work with metal and copper structures

across Canada. A big heart, a keen eye for detail and a quick wit, he always loved a good joke

and lots of laughs with family and friends. He will be so missed by many.

October.

My dear friend Jay. You will be missed dearly. Your humour, and laughter were the life of the party. Every time we were together we laughed our buts off and over the silliest Things, you raised your amazing family to carry on your legacy. I am proud to say I was friend.
