Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

Jessie Griffin aged 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 30, 2024.  Survived by her daughters Louise and Gillian and “son of her heart” Stephen Jessome (Debra), her grandchildren Kayleigh (Timothy), Lindsay, Hayden (Hannah), and Camryn (Luke).  She will be missed by her sister Agnes, many nieces, nephews and friends.  Predeceased by parents William Gilbert Riddell and Agnes Manderson Ireland, brothers John, William and George.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her.  She led by example which she inherited from her loving parents.  She had a wonderful sense of humour and strong opinions that she didn’t mind sharing.

The family would like to thank Dr. Anderson, Jody, Torie, Susan, Pastor Bruce and the staff of Mill Creek Care Centre for the wonderful care they provided to Mum over the past 7 years.

At Jessie’s request, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony for immediate family will be held in the future.

Donations in memory of Mum may be made to The Salvation Army for those who would like to do something to honour her.

Louise I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom. We also moved to Richmond Hill in 1967 and our mothers worked together at the Bank of Nova Scotia and if I’m not mistaken our families spent time together. May your mom rest in peace!

Sending our sincerest thoughts and condolences to Jesse’s family and friends. Jesse shared the same dining table as our mom, Paula at Mill Creek. We felt her to be such a sweet and kind soul. She was outspoken when she needed to be. A wonderful person. My brother Jeff had alot of great chats with Jesse during dinner time. We only recently discovered she was from Richmond Hill, as were we.

Hope you find comfort in your special memories and surrounding of your loved ones.

    Thinking of you all.
