It is with great sadness that Joan’s family announces her passing on November 17th, at Mill Creek Care Centre, Barrie in her 86th year. Beloved wife of Earl for 65 years she will be sorely missed. She was the loving mother of Gregory Winter, Beverley DiCarlo (Don) and Lisa Console (Tony) and will be lovingly remembered as Nana by her grandchildren Thomas, Grant, Laura, Alex, Kierlyn, Lucas and Nicholas and Great Nana to Giuliana. Joan is survived by her brother James Laking (Marina), sisters-in-law Janice Laking, Jane Blogg (Winston) and brother-in-law Harold Parker. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Joan was predeceased by her parents Wilbur and Alma Laking and brothers Bill and John.

The family wishes to extend its sincere and heartfelt thanks to Joan’s wonderful friends for all their helpful support during her time at Mill Creek.

We also extend special thanks and appreciation to the Mill Creek Care Centre staff for their loving and wonderful care.

A private graveside and memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers would be appreciated by the family to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice.
