On the morning of May 8, 2024, Joanne Mary Wrixon (née Compton) passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie in her 67th year after a long illness. She is now at peace with her mother and father, Barbara and David Compton, her daughter Pamela Judd and her sisters Judy Kreger and Janey Wunder.
Joanne is loved and will be deeply missed by her husband Peter, her children Sherri (Jeff), Tyler (Deanna), Tom (Bailey) and her grandchildren. She will also be missed by her surviving sister Jenny (Brian) as well as her nieces and nephews.
As per Joanne and the family’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. A Celebration of Joanne’s Life will be held at the family home in Barrie on June 1, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice in Joanne’s name.
The family thanks the doctors and staff at RVH in Barrie for all their fine care and support during Joanne’s illness.
