John Price

August 5, 1944 - August 12, 2021

Funeral Details:

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing on August 12, 2021, in Orillia Ontario at the age of 77 after a brief battle with Cancer.  Son of the late Florence and Reginald Price and beloved husband to Grace Price.

A treasured father that will be forever missed by his children Laura (Scott) Darroch and David (Melanie) Price. Cherished grandfather of Ainsley, Kaitlyn, Dylan and Kira.  The very dear brother of Joan, Robert and Paul Price.

John served proudly as a Toronto Police Officer and will be sincerely remembered by his peers, along with so many in the community he met during his time on the job. John served all 37 years on the force at his “second home” Etobicoke’s 21 Division.

Please don’t cry because John is gone; instead, be happy that he was here, and you had the chance to know him.

We like to think today John is happy and at peace and perhaps telling stories of his time spent on the golf courses and tennis courts with so many of his friends and family. Perhaps John is just reminiscing about his memorable times living out his retirement with all his dear and close friends within the Pineridge Community in Gravenhurst Ontario.

Regardless of what John is doing you can be sure some lucky soul just found a great guy!

Cremation will take place at the family’s convenience, and his ashes will be kept around the house for as long as they match the décor.

Words of condolences can be made at peacefultransition.ca.

Please consider in lieu of flowers, perhaps giving generously to Mariposa House Hospice “in memory” of John. https://www.mariposahousehospice.com

A ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held, in lieu of a service, at 1pm on Saturday September 25th at:

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 302

290 Veterans Way, Gravenhurst, ON P1P 1K2

    Dear Grace, Laura and David.
I was very sad to hear that John had passed away recently. As you know we go back a long way. In fact it was 1965 the year we met at the Police College. I will always have the best of memories when I think of my relationship with John. In my book he will always be one of the good guys.
Please convey my condolences to the rest of your family and know that you are in my thoughts and in my heart at this time.
    With Love.

    Barrie
