Jon Edmund Patterson Gow

May 23, 1943 - January 28, 2025

Funeral Details:

It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Jon Edmund Patterson Gow on January 28, 2025, in his 82nd year at Royal Victoria Regional Hospital in Barrie, Ontario.

Beloved husband and best friend of Marg. Father of Bonnie Lyn (Mike) and Wendy Lee.  Stepfather of Blair (Sheilagh), Valerie (Randy), Keith (Lisa) and Derek (Lori).  Grandfather of 9.

Jon loved his family and was a very caring and compassionate person.

His career spanned 35+ years in television in both Ottawa and CKVR Barrie, his colleagues were like family to him.

In keeping with Jon’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service.  His ashes will be scattered at McCrae Point Provincial Park, his favorite place to camp, in the spring of 2025.  Date to be determined.

Donations to Royal Victoria Regional Hospital Foundation https://www.rvhkeeplifewild.ca would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Jon will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.

      Thanks Mike. I’m sure Jon is now having fun again. The last year was so hard for him. I imagine playing golf with a couple of his good friends who went before him.

      I miss him terribly, but am holding all the memories close to my heart. Time will help ease this raw pain, I’m sure.

    So sad. Jon was one of the best bosses I ever had, he was such a kind soul and fun to work with. He taught me so much from camera work, lighting, building sets and even how to arborite a counter top. Thanks Jon for all the wonderful memories and golf tips. My condolences to Marg and his family.
