BERTOLDI, Joseph Lawrence       1957 - 2024

It is with heavy hearts that after a short illness, we announce the peaceful passing of Joe on May 29, 2024 at the age of 66. Son of the late Joseph and Emily Bertoldi. Born on August 1st, 1957, Joe grew up in Etobicoke, one of six children.

Joe lived life on his own terms, embracing every moment with a spirit of independence and a hands on approach. A mechanic by trade and a “Mr. Fix It” by nature, Joe found immense joy in working in his shop. His skill and dedication to his craft were unparalleled, and he was known far and wide as the go-to guy for any mechanical issue.

Joe’s garage was more than just a workshop; it was his sanctuary. It was in this cherished place that he spent countless hours, both alone and in the company of many friends. There, amidst the tools and projects he welcomed his buddies to shoot the breeze and share a cold beer, creating a sense of camaraderie and lasting memories.

A true “man’s man,” Joe’s handy skills and his ability to challenge any repair were a testament to his resourcefulness and ingenuity. He was a pillar of strength and reliability to those who knew him, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Joe’s presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, friendship, telling it like it is, and knowing he lived his life true to his own values and principles.

In honour of Joe, friends are welcome to a celebration of his life to be held at Whitchurch Stouffville Museum, 14732 Woodbine  Avenue, Saturday June 22, between 1-4 with reflections commencing at 2pm. Donations in Joes’ name to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
