Funeral Details:

Josephine (Jo) Florence Gregory Nee: Cannell

It is with great sadness and respect that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Jo on May 10, 2018 at Roberta Place in Barrie in her 98th year.  Mom was predeceased by husband Edward and son Thomas.  She is survived by sons James (Linda), Robert, and daughter Nanci (Scott) and daughter-in-law Betty.  Also survived by grandchildren David, Karen, Tracey, Mark, Jesse, Carissa, Kristine, Lisa, Monica, Mathew, Erik, Kyle, Michael, Matthew, Gillian, Emma Jo, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  Mom’s parents immigrated from England in the early 1900s, raising a large family of 10 children.  Mom was sister to Jim, Kay, Don and Bob and predeceased by sisters Alice, Nell, and brothers Tom, Jack, and Art.

Always humble and kind, a very loving mother putting everyone’s needs and desires ahead of her own.  She was the shining star of our family and “Aunt Jo” to the staff at Roberta Place.

She is gone from our sight, but never gone from our hearts.

A celebration of her life will be held in her honour at a place and time yet to be determined.

We invite you to make memorial donations on Mom’s behalf to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario.  Messages of condolence may be posted online at www.peacefultransition.ca

“I was so sad to hear that my dear Aunt Jo had passed. I have so many wonderful memories of her from when I was still a young girl. Aunt Jo was thoughtful and kind and always took time to talk to me when we together. I am glad I got to visit with her this past winter and I will always keep her in my heart.”
