Joyce Marlene Lintner (nee Hurd)

April 17, 1942 - August 5, 2024

Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held at the Army Navy Club, 52 Morrow Rd, Barrie on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1-4 p.m. 

On August 5, 2024, Joyce died peacefully at the age of 82 years at the RVRHC with most of her family by her side.

Joyce is predeceased by her husband Elwood “Al” Lintner of 60 years.  She leaves behind her two children Steve (Alison), Pam (Mike); and 4 grandchildren, Mikayla (Evan), Cameron (Sam), Sheridan (Brock), and Logan (Alyssa).  Joyce was the youngest of 6 siblings, and she leaves behind her brother Bob (Joan), and is predeceased by her twin sister June, sister Lorraine, and brothers Bill (Rita), and Doug.  She will also be dearly missed by Wanda Lintner, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Joyce was born in Toronto and grew up in the Scarborough/Leaside area, then spent more than 50 years in Midhurst where she raised her family.  She enjoyed softball growing up, and right up to her passing she enjoyed watching her Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays.  She was a loyal and dedicated employee at Radio Shack “The Source” in Barrie for 41 years.  Joyce was once active in golf, loved family dinners, playing cards, sporting events, baking, and heading North to our camp.

At Joyce’s request, cremation has taken place.  She will be reunited with Al at her final resting place at the Midhurst Union Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Army Navy Club, 52 Morrow Rd, Barrie on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1-4 p.m.

    So sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing. I spoke with her last year after she had lost Al. I remember being at a Party and probably a few other times at her house before she moved up North. She and Al came to a New Year’s Eve Party at my House once way back in the 60’s.
