Passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026 at the age of 90 years at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie.
Joyce was born in 1936 to her parents Kenneth and Eva. Joyce was formerly married to George, and then later married her beloved husband Jim Strang. Loving mother of Scott (Debbie), Dana, Brent, and Kerry-Lynn (Matthew).
Joyce worked for 35 years as a bookkeeper with Stewart Esten. She was an involved member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 147, and with also with the Salvation Army.
She enjoyed all aspects of her life in Barrie, as this was a good place to raise her children.
In her memory, donations may be made to, Hospice Simcoe, Salvation Army or to the RC Legion, Branch 147.

Posted on: Monday, August 3, 2026From 1973 to 1981 I worked with Joyce at Conder, Sugg, Bigelow, Miller, Kenny & Reed at 23 Owen Street in Barrie. She was the bookkeeper and I was just out of school. She took me under her wing. We had many happy times together over those years. I lived on Burton Avenue, just down the street from where she lived with her three children, Scott, Dana and Brent. Whenever I think of those early years, I smile, and think of the good times we had. Rest in peace, dear Joyce.

Posted on: Wednesday, August 5, 2026What a beautiful soul and treasure Joyce was to the legion and this world. Her spunk, laughter, commitment and honour showed in everything she did. I loved visiting with Joyce when she came into the legion and I loved working with Joyce when she was on executive and did the bus trips. I will always remember her great hugs and her incredible spunky, spicey nature. RIP Joyce.
