Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

On the evening of October 27, 2022, in her 93rd year, June Marie Crocker passed peacefully to go and be with our Lord.

Precious Mom to Marla, Laurie and Cathy.  Special Nan to Aron, (David) and Michael.  Gee Gee to Shayne and Piper.  Dearly missed by her great niece Kimmy, all her nieces and nephews, her friends, and her furry Grandbabies.

Mom was Beautiful with a vivacious personality and the life of the party, so youthful in spirit and appearance throughout her life.

Her accomplishments were many...  Artist, Singer, Model, Business woman, and a Minister of the Gospel to name just a few.  She was a courageous, hardworking woman...  She worked several jobs to raise her three daughters on her own, as well as extended family members.  She also took in our friends on occasion when they had no place to go.  Mom made such an impact on so many lives.  She had a very generous heart.

Growing up with our mom was a unique experience...  She was silly and a lot of fun and made occasions magical and memorable.  She taught us right from wrong and raised us with integrity.  Mom was also a mighty warrior for God and has brought many people to the Lord.  Life was never boring.  She has gone on to her great reward, and we will always hold her in our hearts until we are reunited again…  We miss you Mom, Love you to the moon and back and then some…

"In the end, she became more than what she expected.  She became the journey, and like all journeys, she did not end, she just simply changed directions and kept going." – r. m. drake

My deepest condolences too Marla, Laurie, Cathy and extended Family and friends for your loss. The one common thread that connects all of the memories I have growing up visiting our “Aunty June” is the increadible love and warmth of family members that filled what ever house we gathered in.

Her love and discipline made me the person I am today , I thank Jesus for putting me into my aunts life , my aunt June was a true prayer warrior in Christ and she brought our family to Jesus and I am eternally grateful for that.
The only thing that gets me through my aunts passing is knowing that we will all meet again in God’s kingdom , Until then I’ll miss my aunt June with all my heart and soul

    TRIBUTE TO MOM….
On the evening of Oct 27, 2022, Our beautiful Mother was called to heaven. Mom was born in Batavia, New York while her parents were visiting relatives there, but she grew up in Kingston and surrounding area. Mom was a “force to be reckoned with” even at the age of 92.
Her childhood was not easy and either was a lot of her life, but Mom had a “Big Personality” and it helped her to keep going. She raised three daughters as a single Mom, kept us all together, and even raised other members of extended family as well..There was no financial help like there is today..Mom worked hard, sometimes three jobs, just to make ends meet. She never had anything handed to her, she always paid her way… She managed to buy her first house in the early sixties. Our lives were not always easy growing up, Mom was not perfect, but there are happy memories that we carry to this day..Because of Mom, Christmas was magical and we are Christmas junkies to this day..we had pyjama party birthdays, street parties, and mom often made a skating rink in our back yard. Our friends liked to come to our house, they thought mom was “cool” and Mom never new who would be staying for supper that night. Mom could be a lot of fun at times and oh the stories we could tell would be endless. We also lived on a historical wooden st, 27 Northview Terrace, the last existing wooden st in Toronto. It was built on the top of a hill above Ramsden Park..in the summer, the public ice rink would hold dances there and we all would go, the whole street…if you made popcorn to , you would make it for the whole street, everyone shared, it was like a big family…sadly it is no longer there, but it is a happy memory for us.
Mom was very strict growing up, in later years, she told us that she had to be because she was the only parent..when Mom said to be home by 9, we would be home by 8:50 just to make sure there was no chance of being late, even if we were a minute late, we were grounded for two weeks…
Mom did a lot of interesting things growing up..She could really sing, and she could really belt it out, she sang at a lot of different places like the Brown Derby and Horseshoe Tavern, and was not the least bit shy, even sang when she was in the nursing home… she also was a wonderful artist, oil, charcoal, sketching, she did it all and was very talented ..she also did some modelling and taught at “Walter Thorntons Modelling Agency”…We used to call Mom a “Gypsy” because she loved to move..we moved every year…she would buy another house and we would be moving again..another school, another house. I believe this made us the people we are today because of the things Mom did..
After we grew up Mom was always a constant in our lives..on Mothers Day, her Birthday, we spoiled her and gave her all the attention, and she loved it..we spent all holidays together and did things together…In the early eighties Mom decided to move to Texas..she didn’t know anyone there but I guess the “Gypsy” in her never left..She lived there for 3 years but missed us, and decided to move back home.. Mom became a strong Christian when she was a younger woman and eventually brought her family to know the Lord as well, and we will be forever grateful to her for that..when Mom was in her early sixties she met and married Gerry, who became our stepdad for the next 15 years…Gerry did not know what he was in for….we did..they bought a century house in Campbellford on roughly an acre..after a year or so decided the house and property were too big..they bought a smaller house but on 2 acres in a the hamlet of Queensborough, then eventually put an addition on the house. This was even bigger than what they had…they both loved it there and did not move until Gerry became ill and it was too much..the last year of his life they bought a house in Kirkfield and when he died, Mom moved to Barrie..During Moms’ 14 years in Barrie was no different, even though she turned eighty when she moved here. Mom moved 7 times, the last place was the nursing home…The “Gypsy” in Mom was a way to find some kind of adventure or change, that was just the way she was. Mom always did things in a big way, she had a big Personality and was a very generous person..although mom endured some injuries in her last few years, she was an overcomer..she still wore her bright red lipstick everyday, pencilled eyebrows, and enjoyed hanging with her friends..there is so much more to Moms life that we could go on forever. The important thing is that Our Mom was truly loved, and she knew it. We told her every day that we loved her.. We did everything in our power to care for and look after her and keep her safe. She knew she could call us 20 times a day if she wanted to, day or night, and we would always be there for her. We did everything we could to make our Moms life as easy as possible, to make her feel independant, so she can enjoy her life, my Mom knew this too. We are so Thankfull that we had Mom for as long as we did..grateful that she raised us with integrity, and to be good and caring people. Mom is already dearly missed by us all, and always will be. Our lives will never be the same without her..the quiet of her absence is so loud.. We know she is with Jesus now in perfect health and youth..Reunited with family who is so excited to see her… and all our pets jumping up on her, unable to contain their excitement with love and sloppy kisses. Mom you will be forever in our hearts, we love you to the moon and back, and then some….
“Grief never ends…but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith…It is the price of love.”

    Your Mother

Your Mother is always with you.
She’s the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.
She’s the smell of certain foods you remember,
    flowers you pick and
    perfume that she wore.
She’s the cool hand on your brow
    when you’re not feeling well.
She’s your breath in the air
    on a cold winter’s day.
She is the sound of the rain
    that lulls you to sleep,
    the colors of a rainbow.
    She is Christmas morning.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter.
    She’s crystallized in every teardrop.
    A mother shows every emotion…
    happiness, sadness, fear,
    jealousy, love, hate, anger,
    helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrow…
and all the while, hoping and praying
you will only know the good feelings in life.
She’s the place you came from,
your first home, and she’s the map
you follow with every step you take.
She’s your first love; your first friend,
    even your first enemy,
but nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, not space…not even death!
