Karen Diggle

January 18, 1946 - November 9, 2018

Funeral Details: November 12, 2018 From 4:00 - 7:00 pm Ferndale Banquet Hall

"It is with broken hearts that the family of  Karen Leta Diggle announces her passing after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Karen was born in Toronto on January 18th, 1946 and passed peacefully at the age of 72 surrounded by her family on Friday, November 9th, 2018.

Karen is pre-deceased by her parents Mary Olive Irene and Col. Norman Hamill, as well as her brother Robert Craig Hamill and her loving husband of 37 years, Robert Marvin Diggle. Karen was the devoted mother to Candous Lee Bryan and Robert Sean Diggle, and mother-in-law to Greg Bryan and Kerri Diggle. She will be remembered lovingly as "Nana" to her 4 grandchildren, Alison Virginia Bryan, Natalie Elaine Bryan, Lauren Holly Diggle, and Avery Robyn Diggle

Karen was an avid traveller and spent as much time as she could on a cruise ship. Her granddaughters had the opportunity to make beautiful memories with her while accompanying her on many voyages and adventures over the years; whether that be cruising the Mediterranean or watching Lauren and Avery compete in the Cheerleading Worlds in Orlando. When she was not exploring the world, Karen always enjoyed a game of bingo with "the girls" or an evening trying her luck on the slots. She was never without a book in hand and shared many laughs with Ali and Candy about the latest “Stephanie Plum” novel. She will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to invite you to Karen's celebration of life to share your favourite memories and to pay your respects. Feel free to drop by on Monday, November 12th, 2018 anytime from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Ferndale Banquet Hall (24 Ferndale Industrial Dr, Barrie Ontario).  Flowers may be sent directly there on Monday. Alternatively, a donation can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Center in Karen's honour."
