It is with heavy hearts that the family announces Karen Oldfield’s passing on April 17, 2022 in Barrie at the age of 79 years. Daughter of the late Cyrus and late Helena Arvilla (nee Long) Shortt. Dear sister of departed Nonny and Vonnie. Beloved wife of Robert Oldfield. Loving mother of Greg (Shawna) and Jeff (Sheryle) Oldfield. Cherished grandmother of Carly and Tyrus Oldfield.
In her working days, Karen was a skilled bookkeeper for the family’s printing company, and designed two of their homes
In her free time, Karen enjoyed painting beautiful landscapes, playing cards around the cottage table, skiing, her kids and grandkids hockey, sewing, and relaxing at Bluewater Beach. Karen was extremely loving, caring, and to anyone who knew her, a great laugh. She loved her pets tremendously, and her family with her whole heart.
Karen will be missed sadly by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Karen will be laid to rest at Barrie Union Cemetery Friday April 22nd 2002.
