Linda, Leeanne, Cindy:   as Jim’s sister, I share in your grief of your loss.  I’m writing something that will help me…..and hopefully you too.
    THE GIFT.

All things you’ve said to me are wrapped up in a package and brought to my heart.

Each time I need comforting, my heart opens up the package and again I hear your voice.

When your voice rings in my head as clearly as my own,

I open up the package and hide it in the reserved place in my heart.

RIP Jimmy.  Gone but never forgotten.

This morning I’m remembering a time, many years ago,  when Jim drove taxi in Angus.  The ladies would ask the dispatcher for Jim by name because he was always neatly dressed, smelled good (he always wore a shaving lotion) and because he was always courteous and kind.  He would help carry their groceries and assist in any way he could.
The other thing I’m remembering is him being soft-spoken and his lovely singing voice….despite years of smoking.    Perhaps he’s singing for the angels today.

One of my fondest memories of Jim is when he took Paul and Jeffrey (nephews) Christmas shopping for their mother. They were ready with a fistful of Canadian Tire money and came back with lots of neat things (little trees for car freshener.)sticks vividly in my mind. He was a caring brother and I will miss him.

Many memories come to mind when I think of Uncle Jim one of the earliest ones was he came to A & M Market in Angus to help Dad out with a boost and sure enough it was a hot summer day and I hop in uncle Jim’s convertible and see a can of soda unfortunately it was about 75% Seagram’s and 25% Coke and as you can imagine for a 7 year old to have his first stiff drink. Another fond memory although not sure of what has transpired that day I do believe it was the lovegrove family portrait in the 80s and everybody decided to go to the legion that evening not quite sure why but as always Aunt Madeline and Uncle Jim were some sort of odds and Uncle Jim being the egotistical tough guy had his chain removed by Aunt Madeline and it always made me laugh remembering that.
If anything and I know I’ve stated this on Facebook Uncle Jim always made it seem that you could be a ridiculous clown and get away with it and I’ve always tried to do that myself and that’s the best memory I can share

This was a message in a card sent to Maddy & Richard.

“Nothing prepares you for saying good-bye to someone who’s always been such a big part of your life.

I hope it comforts you to know that your loved one will always be remembered, always be loved, and always be someone so many people were glad to know”.
