With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Dianne Johnston-Timmerman, aged 77, at Hospice Simcoe on October 5, 2026, following a courageous journey with glioblastoma.

Born on Christmas Day and raised in Brantford, Ontario, Linda was truly a gift to all who knew her.  Her enchanting smile, bright blue eyes, contagious laughter, and free spirit, brought joy and warmth wherever she went.

Nothing warmed Linda’s heart more than time spent with family.  She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Leonard “Tim”; stepson, Timothy Richard (Rick); grandchildren, Daphney Rose and Jack; sister, Ruth Trushinski (Rick); and sisters-in-law, Marlene Kane (Gerard), Linda Young (Mike), and Leanne Timmerman (Jeff).

Linda was also a much-loved aunt to nieces and nephews, Jessica, Sara, Nikki, Lily, Samantha, Chris, Charlie, Briana, Matthew, Kimberly, Daniel, Chris, and Tamara, along with her many grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

Linda was predeceased by her beloved parents, Lorna and Charlie Johnston; her cherished nephew Andrew Trushinski; her dear parents-in-law Len and Molly Timmerman, and her precious infant grand-nephew Jaxon Roberts.

Linda spent much of her working life at CIBC, where she was highly respected and formed lasing friendships, including with her dear friend Diane, whom she affectionately called “my pal.”

Linda and her beloved husband, Tim, shared a life rich in love, laughter, music, dancing, and all things social.  Together, they made countless cherished friendships along the way.  Among them were longtime friends Pat and Wendy, Randy and Denise, and Brenda and Bob, to name just a few.  Their retirement years at Sandy Cove brought even more wonderful friendships and treasured memories.

It is said that some people bring such a beautiful light into this world that it continues to shine long after they have left us.  Linda was truly one of those people.

Her kindness, joyful spirit, and love of life will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

With heartfelt gratitude, the family extends their sincere appreciated to Hospice Simcoe, Dr. Jason Yu, and the dedicated staff at both RVH and Serenity Retirement Residence, all of whom placed an invaluable role in Linda’s exceptional care.

Special recognition is also given to her devoted family caregivers, Marlene, Nikki and Sam – Linda’s “earth angels” – whose love, compassion, and unwavering support meant so very much.

Our deepest gratitude goes to Dr. Kerstin Mossman and her wonderful staff, whose extraordinary compassion and dedication went above and beyond in their care.  Above all, we thank them for making Linda and Tim feel genuinely loved and cared for, as though they were family.

Cremation has already taken place in honour of Linda’s wishes.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will take place on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at “The Wheel” Building at Sandy Cove Acres in Innisfil, Ontario.  All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Linda’s memory are invited to make a donation to Hospice Simcoe  or the Canadian Cancer Society.  All donations, regardless of the amount, are sincerely appreciated.

A piece of our hearts goes with her, but the love and light she brough into our lives will remain forever.

Forever loved.  Deeply missed.  Always remembered.
