It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda (Dobie) Dumais on July 15th, 2026. Linda leaves behind her daughters, Chantelle & Nicole (Jon Therrien), cherished grandchildren Joshua & Kara, her mother Marion, brothers Allan (Maureen) & Robert (Linda), sister Jane (Scott), and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Linda was born on September 3rd, 1950, in Meaford, Ontario. She lived a life marked by dedication to the nursing profession, kindness to those in need, and a deep commitment to her family. Among her proudest accomplishments was her work as a Nursing Manager at the Midland hospital. In her 30+ year career, she managed the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Day Care Unit and Operating Room. Her compassion, superior skills, executive leadership and extraordinary dedication to the healthcare field were seen as unprecedented.
Losing her husband (Doug) at a young age, Linda became Mom & Dad to her family and supported us with an exceptional amount of care, commitment and overwhelming love. As a full-time nurse and mom, she still found time to make holidays special, sewing custom Halloween costumes, making personal birthday cakes, baking countless Christmas treats including her famous nuts & bolts, and volunteering at all our activities. Linda was a proud Mamie to two grandchildren. She enjoyed having them for sleepovers, teaching them to sew and knit, treating them to junk food and spoiling them in the typical grandparent ways.
Linda also spent a lot of her time volunteering and giving back to her community. She sponsored multiple families in need for nearly 30 years, helped with environment clean up at the Midland Hospital, made blankets, hats and mittens for those in need, and actively participated in her church community.
Linda will be forever remembered for her ability to balance life as a single mother, full-time nursing manager, dedicated Mamie, and giving community member. She will be remembered for her passion for gardening and wildlife; going out of her way to save animals in need, and making sure animals around her home were well fed.
Linda’s family hopes that she is remembered as a loving, kind, compassionate individual who always put others first and cared for all living beings. When you are in the garden and nature, please take a minute to reflect on the love and friendship Linda gave. In her loving memory, treat all people and creatures with respect and kindness.
We would like to thank the staff and residents of Mill Creek Care Center for the love and support she was blessed with over the years.
