Loreene “Lorrie” Miriam McParland (nee Brandon)

June 29, 1941 - October 13, 2025

Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ferndale Banquet Hall, 24 Ferndale Industrial Dr., on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 1-4 p.m.

Passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 84, with family at her side.  Daughter of the late Harold and Isabel.  Beloved wife of the late Gregory McParland.  Loving mother of Tiffany (Wayne) and Tammy (Martin).  Cherished grandmother of Dylan, Sheldon (Vanessa), Averie (Tatiana), Madelyn (Jesse), and Tanner (Peter); and proud great-grandmother of Lincoln.

Survived by her siblings Judy(Jerry), Sue, Eric (Judy), Jessie, Melodie(Mitch), and predeceased by sisters June and Carol.

Lorrie loved spending time with her family and had a special fondness for playing games, her favourite being Rummikub, which she often enjoyed with her coffee club friends in her building.  She was an avid reader, always with a book or two on the go.  She was also a devoted fan of Dancing with the Stars, making an annual trip with family to attend a live show.

Independent and full of life, Lorrie found joy in local travel, keeping busy, and making lasting memories.  A favourite summer tradition was attending the King’s Wharf Theatre with her family.  She was also a former member of the Red Hat Society.  Lorrie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In keeping with Lorrie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ferndale Banquet Hall, 24 Ferndale Industrial Dr., on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 1-4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your mom was so proud of her family. On our little visits she proudly praised you girls and especially the grandchildren for all your accomplishments. She always had nice family stories to share. May she rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss Tiffany, Tammy and family. I worked at No Frills with Lorrie for several years until she retired and was always watching for her coming in as a customer to have a chat. Sorry I will be unable to attend the celebration of life, I will be out of Province. She was a wonderful lady with a big heart. My thoughts are with you all.
