Margaret “Peggy” Sedlar passed away peacefully surrounded by family, after a long battle with dementia, at Woods Park Care Centre in Barrie on August 17, 2024, at the age of 98.
Predeceased by her loving husband, George Sedlar (2019). Loving mother of Peggy Ann (Bruce Bolsby), Patrick (Julie Hinds) and beloved grandmother of David Bolsby (Graham Hendren).
Peg was the sister of the late Helen (John) Jabora, the late Morris (Marion) Richards, Alice McArthur (the late Henry), and Mary Jane Bull (the late Herb) and sister-in-law of Sonia Pavluk and the late Vera Hamlin. She will also be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was an office administrator for over 40 years, starting at Standard Paint, which had several name changes throughout her long career there.
She will be fondly remembered for her infectious laugh, unwavering support of her family, her love of the New York Yankees, her knitting and crocheting, great cooking, adeptness at all types of puzzles, and getting her daily Pepsi fix.
Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at 3A Woods Park for their excellent care of their mom over the last two years.
Cremation has taken place, and at Peggy’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Peggy to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. https://alzheimer.ca/en

Posted on: Monday, August 19, 2024Dear Peggy, Bruce, Pat, Julie, David and Graham,
I am so sorry for your loss. You have lost and wonderful woman and heaven has gained an angel. I have so many fond memories on Champlain and I don’t really know where to start. To name a few, I have slippers, and a treasured Christmas stocking she crochetted for me. The corner of the cabinet with all those sweet treats was something else. I shared so many laughs and conversations with her. She will be missed. Big hug to all of you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Till we meet again Mrs. Sedlar…..love you!
