Marion passed peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Southlake Regional Health Center at the age of 84.

In spite of her rheumatoid arthritis, Marion lived her life with energy and determination. Always on the go whether walking her beloved dog, Flame, or spending time with her family or friends. Marion was always so young at heart, she so enjoyed the company of co-workers at Mackenzie Health, formally York Central Hospital. Marion loved music and theatre and sang with the Sweet Adelines barbershop choral group for a number of years in the 1970’s.

Marion was born in Willowdale, Ontario on October 9th, 1935. Her family moved back to England in 1937. As a teenager Marion played on the county Netball team and inherited her father’s love for Canada. Marion had a passion for adventure and moved back to Canada at the age of 19. Marion married Joseph Donald Thompson on September 21, 1957. Marion and Don lived in Willowdale and moved to Aurora in 1959 residing there for 60 years. Loving wife of the late Donald Thompson (1986). Loving mother of Jamie (Sheila), Mark (Sue), Judith (Lawrence) and Angela (Scott). Cherished grandmother to Andrew, Philip (Jolina), Clara (Garett), Chris (Megan), Colin, Jonathan and Aidan. Loving sister of Kenneth Armson (Beverley), predeceased by her parents Harold Armson and Gladys (Wraight).

Cremation has taken place. A reception for family and friends will be on Saturday November 2nd, 2019 at the Aurora Cultural Centre (22 Church Street, Aurora, Ontario L4G 1G4) from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.  Due to Marion’s love for animals, donations to Dog Tales and Rescue Sanctuary would be appreciated by the family.
