Funeral Details: Friday December 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Our Lady of Grace Church ( 15347 Yonge Street, Aurora, On.,)

Nabuurs, Martin A. (Martinus Alphonsius): Passed away peacefully and with family at his side at Willows Estate Long Term Care in Aurora on December 5, 2023. Martin recently turned 93 years-old. Beloved husband of Late Mary (Mollie) Sullivan (nee Callaghan) Nabuurs (May 3, 2023). Loving and supportive father of Tom (Robbie), Patsy, Chris (Norma), Barry (Oksana), Brian (Tanya) and Mary Jo (Shane). Grandpa/Papa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Adrian, Lyndsy (Ruth), Neal, Jordan (Lucie), Jaime (Michael), Nicholas, Adrian, Molly, Cooper, Sully, Abby, Evangeline and Farrah. Great-grandfather of Sean & baby-to-be.

Martin is predeceased by his brothers and sister Arnold, Joe, Tony, (Fr.) Theo, Peter, Harry and Dinah. He is survived by his sisters Johannah and Mary and his youngest brother, Bert (Marilyn).

Martin will be fondly remembered by his children and by his siblings, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends for his incredible work ethic, his sense of humour and hearty laugh, his love of children and for his smooth moves on the dance floor.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church (15347 Yonge Street, Aurora) on December 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Reception immediately afterward; details to be announced. The family kindly asks that if anyone is feeling ill that they consider staying home.

Memorial donations may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Arrangements entrusted to Peaceful Transition York (2-15236 Yonge Street Aurora) and condolences may be forwarded through www.peacefultransition.ca.

    I was sorry to hear of Martin’s passing. Both Martin and Mollie were apart of so many memories for us on our trips to Aurora from Ireland. Martin loved to laugh and make people laugh and I know both my parents Anne and Vincent loved being in his company . Go dtuga sé suaimhneas dó, may he rest in peace.

    Condolences to all of you on the loss of your father. Thinking about you at this difficult time.

    Uncle Martin lived a full life and his family was his bedrock. I know you will miss him dearly, as will I.

    His lively spirit will live on. Thank you Uncle Martin (Aunt Mollie too), for all the great memories and good times at 46 Mosley Street. Thank you for your kindness, good humour and generosity.
