It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Lou on January 1, 2024.

Loving mother of Tammy Lowe (Glen Rebeein), Teresa (Collin Reid), Kelly Tonello, and the late Chris; she is will also be remembered by her daughter-in-law Shannon.  Dear grandma of Kayla, Stephanie, Ashley, Taylor, Curtis, Brandon, Alex, Nicholas, Raelyn, and Emersyn; and great-grandma of Zaiden, McKenzie, Elizabeth, and Kinley.  Caring sister of Dan (Sheila) and Judy (Jack).  She will be missed by her cousin and best friend Joan; many nieces and nephews; and to all who knew her.  In addition to her human family, Mary Lou will be dearly missed by her dogs, Jose and Simon, whom she loved dearly.  Their wagging tails and loyal companionship brought her immense joy and comfort.

Mary Lou may have been tiny in stature, but she possessed a remarkable strength that defined her character.  She wore the pants in the family, leading with love and fairness.  Her down-to-earth nature, combined with an undeniable cuteness, endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  A true matriarch, Mary Lou had a heart of gold and was always there to keep her family in line with a perfect blend of strength and wisdom.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and valuable life lessons as a great teacher.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. at Tiff’s Restaurant and Sports Bar, 29 Anne St. S., Barrie.  Online memories and condolences may be shared at www.peacefultransition.ca.

It’s been quite a few years now since I worked with Mary, but I always loved being on the same shift as her, she had a great attitude! My condolences to her family 💐

My sympathies to the Lowe/Harris family. Mary and I were friends in Grade 9/10 and I have thought of her often. Life wasn’t always kind to her but her inner strength was always apparent. Good memories of times together. Until we meet again for that glass of wine we were going to have Mary!

My condolences to all. I knew this wonderful lady 25 years ago. I was a friend of Tammy’s and I think of them often. I would love to reconnect.
