Mary Kathleen Elizabeth (Kay) Valentine

A shining star left the building.

Mary Kathleen Elizabeth (Kay) Valentine chose to take her final bow with her daughter by her side.

Kay was the loving mother of Kim (Paul), Keith (pre-deceased), and grandmother of Brittany (Todd).

Born in Middlesex, England, lived in Ireland and at 13 emigrated with her family to Canada. She became an elementary school teacher and taught in many schools across York Region until her retirement in 1997. A woman of many talents, Kay was an avid bridge player and recently learned to play snooker.

Kay loved community theatre where she excelled as an actor and most recently as a director. She worked with theatre companies in Richmond Hill, Newmarket and her home group Theatre Aurora.

Over the years, she made lifelong friends from all walks of life. She will be missed by so many who will feel her loss deeply.

A Celebration of Kay’s Life will be held on October 25th from 2:00-5:00 pm at Theatre Aurora, 150 Henderson Avenue, Aurora.

At Kay’s request, please wear bright colours.
