It is with great sadness that the family of Maxine Ellen Ivany Brown announce her passing on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Royal Victoria Hospital, following a long journey with health issues.
Born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, by her doting parents Joan and Gordon Ivany. Family was the heart of her world. Max was the beautiful and devoted wife of David, who will miss her deeply. Loving mother of Stephen Lee, Brian Lee, Callum Brown, and Sarah Campbell. Proud grandmother of Cruz Lee, Scarlett Lee, Parker Lee, Draeden Lee, Benjamin “Benny” Cambell, and Mathieson “Mac” Campbell. Nothing brought Maxine more joy than the love she had for her children and grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her siblings, Gord, Glenn, and Martina.
Maxine’s love, strength, and devotion will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched. Loved and admired by many, Maxine will be forever remembered.

Posted on: Tuesday, June 30, 2026Maxine was my first cousin and we two were the oldest. We spent a lot of time together as children in Bay Bulls, NL. Maxine was kind, outgoing and always up for an adventure.
Ellen and I offer our sincere condolences to the family.
We will miss her in Newfoundland this summer.
