With love and sorrow, we share that our cherished mom in her 97th year, left us on October 18, 2023. Born Mary Jane O’Hagan (County Tyrone, N. Ireland), her life journey from the family farm to raising a family of eight children in Ontario proved her strength, determination, and faith. Her fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren brought her great pleasure, keeping her young at heart -being able to enjoy them for over 45 years of her life.
She cared deeply for the less fortunate, always extending small kindnesses. Her awe with nature was with her till the end, always happiest tending her garden.
Predeceased by her husband Alex (2003), cherished mother of Frank (Judith), Alex (Brenda), Ellanna (Chris Whitaker), Pat (Jim Borho), Kevin (Sue), Neil (Lori), Theresa (Louis Gariepy), Adrian (Gitte). Loving Grandma and Great Grandma. Her devotion to her family and faith was inspiring.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Tom Mills for the exceptional care and compassion he showed to our mother.
A family mass was held on October 23, 2023, at St. Mary’s Parish, Barrie. Internment St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Barrie.
