Funeral Details: Private Family Remembrance

Nacevski, Metodija “Teddy”: Passed away peacefully at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket on Sunday November 24, 2019. Teddy Nacevski of Aurora was born in Macedonia. Beloved husband of Dawn-Marie Beal-Nacevski. Loving father of Lukas and Taylor. Dear brother of Danny, George (Maria), Maria (Romano) and sister-in-law to Donna. Teddy will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A private family farewell has taken place. Memorial donations can be made directly to Margaret Bahen Hospice and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Teddy was diagnosed with bile duct cancer - a rare and aggressive form. The bile duct acts as a filter for the liver - and his was not functioning properly. In June he was given 10-12 months. The cancer spread rapidly to his liver, pancreas, lymph nodes and bones. On July 4th, he was given 3-4 weeks. We were in shock but we were not prepared to stop hoping. Over the last 6 months we watched him deteriorate. He lost a lot of weight and had no appetite. He was in a lot of pain but never complained. He was a fighter.
We didn’t lose Teddy today (November 24th), we lost him somewhere along those six months. Today we feel that he is finally at peace. We honoured his wishes and had a beautiful, simple bedside service.
I’m sharing our story because I want people in our community to know about Margaret Bahen Hospice. We arrived on October 29th full of fear. We were showered with kindness and empathy through our laughter and tears. We felt at peace knowing that Teddy would not be in so much pain. It became our safe haven, the kids often falling asleep beside their father. On behalf of my family, and families that will turn to Margaret Bahen Hospice, I ask that you consider making a gift in lieu of flowers. Our hearts are broken but Teddy would want us to live life to its fullest - so that’s what we will do. Taylor, Lukas and I will be forever grateful for the love and support we have received. We know the journey ahead of us will not be easy but our faith in God will uphold us.
