Michael (Mike) Rourke

March 8, 1941 - January 12, 2026

Funeral Details: At his request, no funeral services will be held.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Mike Rourke announce his passing at Southlake Hospital on Monday, January 12, 2026.  Beloved and loving husband to Barbara (Barb) for almost 60 years and adored Dad to Kelly and Kevan (fiancée Nichole).

Born in England on March 8, 1941, Mike came to Canada in 1966, and three months later he was joined by his then fiancée Barb.  Together they created a life filled with family, cherished friendships, travel and much love

Mike was a bricklayer by trade, a voracious reader and a lifetime supporter of Manchester United.  Mike will be forever loved and remembered by his family, and he will live on in our hearts forever.  His wish was that we miss him but not mourn him.

At his request, no funeral services will be held.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to Southlake Foundation.

The family would like to give special thanks to the MACU at Southlake Hospital and Dr. Cathy Lu of Southlake’s Palliative Care team.  Your care and concern for Mike will never be forgotten.

Peaceful Transition York
