Funeral Details: A Celebration of life will be announced at a later date

Lombardi, Michele (Mike):

It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Lombardi announces his passing on Tuesday, September 27th, at the age of 68, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.  Mike will forever be loved by his wife of 46 years, Vicki (nee Slack), his daughter Melissa, son Danny and granddaughter Lauren.

Mike was born in Foggia, Italy to parents Rocco Lombardi and Maria Antonia Lombardi (nee Liscio).  He was also cherished by his siblings - Carmela, Nick, Biagio, Angela, Paolo and Pasqualina and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Mike requested that a cremation take place with no funeral or visitation.  However, there will be a Celebration of Life planned for the near future.  Details will follow.

The family would like to thank the following wonderful doctors - Dr. Lynda McLean (Family Doctor), Dr. Paul Karanicolas (Sunnybrook) and Dr. Demetrios Simos, Dr. Harold Yuen and Dr. Charles Cho (all of Southlake).  We'd also like to thank the many caring nurses and technicians that Mike met during his journey.

Arrangements entrusted to Peaceful Transition York (2-15236 Yonge Street, Aurora, Ontario) and condolences may be forwarded through www.peacefultransition.ca

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Southlake Hospital Foundation (specifically the Stronach Cancer Centre).  The link, should you wish to make a donation is,  https://give.southlake.ca/site/SPageServer/?pagename=donation_form.

He was an amazing man who I looked up to and am proud to call a friend. He was always so supportive and played along with my countless Shenanigans. Always loved going to concerts and talking music with you. You will be deeply missed

    Dear Vicki, Danny and family,

I am so sorry for your loss and the passing of Mike. I hope that your memories and the love of friends and family will be a blessing to you during this time of sadness. I have only met Mike once. He came to my Christmas drop-in one year. Remember Vicki? I found him very warm and very charming. May God comfort you in your sorrow.

Mike, u taught me so many things in the short times that I worked for you. We had so many laughs! Probably the calmest boss to date that I had. I always will cherish your sweet talks and advice you always gave me, I still think about those with my career. My sincere condolences to your family especially Vicki, Melissa and Danny. RIP Mike
