Funeral Details: On Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 10:00 am a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Parish (650 Essa Road, Barrie)
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Miroslawa “Mira” Barcicka on February 22, 2026, at the age of 90.
Mira is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of more than 65 years, Witek; her cherished daughter, Jolanta; and her dear grandson, Daniel.
She was a loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law to Wieslaw and Ela, Irek and Jadzia, and Robert. Mira was a proud and cherished grandmother to Matthew and Gilda, Caroline and Jamie, Agnieszka and Mateusz, and Nicole and Aiden. She was the beloved great-grandmother to Emilia, Victoria, Idalia, and Eva Nora, each of her family members brought immense joy to her life.
Mira’s faith was the foundation of her strength and compassion. She immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1981, building a life centered on hard work, love, and family. Mira was known for her loving heart, strong will, and spirited stubbornness. These qualities defined her and made her unforgettable.
An avid gardener, she took great pride in tending to her plants and flowers. For the past 20 years, she deeply enjoyed life on her hobby farm, where she found peace and fulfillment. Nothing brought her more happiness than caring for her grandchildren; she adored babysitting them.
Mira will be deeply missed by her family and friends in Canada and Poland, and by all who were blessed to know her.
Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Parish (650 Essa Road, Barrie), on Thursday, February 26th, 2026 at 10 am. Interment to take place in the afternoon at Assumption Catholic Cemetery (6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga, ON).
Donations in Mira’s memory may be made to Holy Spirit Parish in Barrie, in lieu of flowers.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of your Mother. Please accept my sincere condolences and know that my thoughts are with you and your family. Your Mom was a wonderful Lady who touched the lives of so many people ( Specially our neighbours from Warsaw) with her kindness, generosity, and wisdom. She will always be remembered as a great and unforgettable person. Her passing is a great loss to all who knew her.
