Murray Watson

January 28, 1931 - November 27, 2022

Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

Murray Watson passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022, in his 92nd year.

Dad was an avid storyteller.  He was constantly spinning yarns or retelling past pranks and humorous events.  No matter the occasion Murray had a story to tell that always had a giggle from him at the end. This served him well in his lifelong career in automotive retail and as a friend to many.

He taught us to be easygoing and just take things as they come.  Over the years he loved snowmobiles, Indy car races, golf, camping, fishing, and cross-country skiing.

Murray was born on January 28, 1931, in St. Thomas Ontario.  He was the son of Bertrand and Amy Watson. Husband to Charlotte Watson in the first part of his life, and later partner to Leona Browning.

Murray leaves behind his children and their spouses John Watson (Wendy), Jay Watson (Elizabeth), Liz Whitelaw (Gord), and Mike Watson (Rebecca).  His step-children Lana Obrien, and Mark Browning (Agnieszka).  Grandchildren Adrian, Anissa, Melinda, Jon, Chris, Rob, Kassandra, Dale, and Callum as well as many great-grandchildren.

There will not be any services as Murray had requested.

I met Murray on only 3 occasions but I was impressed by his friendly demeanour, his willingness to engage and his funny stories.
He presented as quite a character and I’m certain that he will be missed by everyone who loved him.

I met Murray on only a few occasions and was intrigued with his endless joy of sharing his life’s stores. A down to earth man that enjoyed life and successfully made many memories for his family. My condolences to the Watson family.
