Funeral Details: Arrangements entrusted to Peaceful Transition Barrie

Coates, Nancy (Prince) of Barrie passed away peacefully with her children by her side on November 9th 2019. She was born in Stirling, Ontario on April 21st, 1941. She is predeceased by her Mother Dorothy and her two sisters Barbara (Stapley) and Beverley (Lloyd).

Nancy was the most loving and wonderful Mother to Michael and Brenda. She was an incredibly proud Nana to Brittany, Darren, Jesse, Luke and Meagan who will all miss her terribly.

Nancy enjoyed crafts, sewing and knitting and frequently made clothes and blankets for a local charity as a way to give back to the community. Her love of sewing and knitting provided all of us with the best gifts that we will all cherish.

In lieu of flowers a donation to your favourite charity would be appreciated.

I only knew Nancy from the time she spent in the hospital as I had the pleasure of being one her care givers. Nancy was a loving and happy human and I loved just going into her room to have conversations and share what I did over the weekend or how I was feeling in general as she was also such an amazing listener. We had some laughs while decorating her white board in the many rooms she was in or just laughing about silly things I may have done. She will be so missed and I am so sorry to the family for their loss.

Very sorry to hear this sad news about Nancy. I have known Nancy ( Mrs C) since I was 18 years old. She always would take the time to listen about what was going on in my life and was genuinely interested to hear more. Nancy loved her family with all her heart! She will live on in your hearts and memories! Sending hugs to Mesgan, Darren and Brenda.

So sorry to hear about Nancy – though I have not seen her in a number of years I thought about her often and enjoyed seeing what she would put on facebook. I first met Nancy when I started working at Shell Canada in 1981- she was great to work with and a great friend. She loved her family and friends, loved doing her crafts – sewing, knitting you name it! I know Nancy’s first love was to her family – she loved all of you to the moon and back as the expression goes. She will live on in you and the memories you share.

Nancy or m.o.b.b. was a special person who impacted hundreds in an online community. Her love for her family and the community she was active in was readily apparent on a daily basis. To say she was incredible in an understatement and she will be missed.

I’m very saddened to hear about Aunt Nancy’s passing. She was a lovely person, a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren. Due to distance, I haven’t seen her that much in recent years but remember well our younger years at family gatherings. My mother, her older sister Barbara, was very fond of her. I’ll remember how talented she was with her sewing and other crafts. I’m thinking of Brenda and Michael and their families hoping for strength for them at this difficult time.

Sending our sincere condolences to all of you at this difficult time. I’m grateful for the wonderful family memories of days gone by. Aunt Nancy made my beautiful wedding dress, then Tracey’s baptism dress after that. She gave me a surprise bridal shower, and was always fun to be with. I remember my friend Kathy and I staying with you on our shopping trips to the city, and how welcomed we always felt in her home. Its truly sad that families sometimes ‘drift’ away, because of time and distance, but nothing can ever erase the precious times we spent together as a family. Thinking of you, Mike and Brenda, and your families, and wishing you peace and strength as you learn to live without your Mom in your everyday lives. She will, however, always be in your hearts and in your memories.
