NOEL "HUGH" KNOWLES

In his 84th year, passed away on February 28 2015 at Victoria Village in Barrie On. with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Loving husband of Marlene for 56 years. Hugh was predeceased by his parents Noel Hugh and Gladys Everest (nee Cooper), brother William and daughter Kimberley Ann.

Hugh is forever remembered by his sister Augusta Ann, daughter Karen (John) Hugh Jr. (Andrea) Steven (Michelle) Grandpa will be deeply missed by Shannon & Mike, Chad & Katie, Scott and Jana, Cooper, Cameron, Zachary and great grandchildren, Stella, Emerson, Ava, Tessa and Jack, as well as many nieces and nephews.

To the staff of Victoria Village the family wants to thank you for all your unwavering support and dedication to dads care.

To the many friends of the Knowles Woolsey family…Thank you for all your compassion and support that you have shown to Hugh and our families all these years.

His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren play sports, golfing and spending time with family and friends. Hugh also spent many years enjoying boating on Lake Simcoe, the Trent Severn waterway and Georgian Bay. Hugh attended Upper Canada College and later joined the RCAF. Upon leaving the Air force, Hugh secured his Real Estate Brokers license and was instrumental in the Sales and Marketing of many local residential construction projects throughout the Central Ontario region. Hugh was also inspired by the late Sam Shopsowitz (Shopsys Deli) and started the Mister Corned Beef Franchise in Barrie in the 1970's.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that in memoriam donations be made to the Alzheimer's society www.alzheimer.ca

A celebration of life to be held in Bear Creek Golf Club on Friday March 6, 2015 8545 County Rd 56 Utopia ON from 2-5 service at 3pm

    My condolence to the Knowles family. I knew Mr Knowles many years ago and have fond memories of the kindness and generosity of the Knowles family on boat trips up to Port Severn. Always smiling, always up for an adventure, he was one of a kind. Rest in peace.
