Norman J. Pipher

Funeral Details: Celebration of Life to be held at a later date

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Pipher on Christmas morning at the age of 83.

He courageously fought a lengthy battle with cancer, but throughout his illness he always had a smile on his face and tons of loving advice for his family and friends.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Catherine of 58 years, and children, Dean, David, Paul, Jeffrey and Natalie, their spouses and children.  He will also be missed by his sisters, Margaret and Marian, their spouses, and all of the extended family.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who loved his family and cherished life itself.  Outside of his family, his fondest memories were from life on the family farm in Dundalk, Ontario where he was raised with his sisters by parents, Norman Sr. and Janet.

Norman began his career in the grocery industry and over the years rose through the ranks at Brooke Bond Foods, winning numerous regional and national sales awards along the way. He ended his career as the head of special markets at Thomas J Lipton.

Hard work, perseverance and a drive to succeed was the code he lived by and the legacy he bestowed upon his children.

Norman loved the stage, and could be counted upon to have the mike in hand while crooning to a familiar song on the Karaoke machine at all the family get togethers.  He was an avid fisherman, and made the annual trek to numerous Northern lakes with friends and business colleagues while telling stories about the one that got away.

There will not be a funeral service.

Cremation has taken place, and internment will be planned in the spring or summer, when family and friends are able to gather together to celebrate Norman’s life.

Uncle Norman you will be missed. My favorite memories of you and the Family were on the farm in Dundalk. Spending summers on the farm, the tractor rides, going into town. You’re laugh and smile were always contagious. I cannot remember a time where you were not pulling pranks on us kids. Thank you for the childhood memories. And thank you to you and Aunt Cathy for always making me feel like part of the Pipher Clan. My thoughts and condolences to Aunt Cathy, Dean, David, Paul, Jeff, and Natalie. You all are in my prayers.

    Love Camille

Dear Uncle Norman…I hadn’t seen you in over 20 years but I never forgot what a wonderful Uncle you were. So many fond memories of singing karaoke and getting stuck in that awful storm on Lake Erie. Even though we were all terrified, you kept us laughing making fun of how silly we were when you had everything under control! I love you Uncle Norman and I miss you always. All my love to Auntie Cathy and all my cousins and 2nd cousins ❤
