Patricia “Pat” Forget peacefully passed at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the age of 89.

Daughter of the late Charles William Journeaux and Elsie (née Martin).

Beloved wife to Jacques Forget.  Loving mother to son Michael Forget (Linda), and daughter Claudine Benoit (Claude).  Cherished grandmother to Tyler, Caitlin, and Theodore, and great-grandmother to Peyton and Gauge.

Pat leaves behind her brother David Journeaux (Irene), and is predeceased by her sisters: Margaret Barnes, Barbara Audrain, Christine Allen, and Marilyn Journeaux. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-nieces in Canada and the United Kingdom.

She was born in Jersey Channel Islands.  Her family lived through the five-year German occupation during the Second World War and she was eleven years old when the island was liberated May 1945.

She lived life to the fullest with Jacques by her side.  They met as teenagers through ballroom dancing and competed together.  They immigrated to Canada in the late 1950s.  She had a great sense of humour, a passion for cooking, was an animal lover, had a love for the written word, travel, and the sea.  A strong swimmer, she was always the first one in the water, spent many summers at their cottage, and loved her hot cups of tea.

She will be remembered and missed by her family and friends.

    Dear Claudine –

What a life! We are all losing something really solid with the passing of this generation, many of whom lived through so much. Your Mum was blessed to have such a warm and loving family – also a testament to her spirit!

    Thinking of you with love,
    Nancy and Hugh

I have so many wonderful and happy memories of my dear Aunty Pat, I remember you made so many trips back to Jersey to visit family, and enjoyed stayed with my mum, dad, Peter, Paul and me. We had such fun together as a family, and you and Jacques enjoyed time spent with Bill and Christine. I remember you always being happy, with a wonderful sense of humour, I was always content and happy in your company. In later years me, Bill and Christine visited Canada and we had wonderful times in your back garden with all the family and the mosquitos. I will always treasure my happy memories of you Aunty Pat, and my sincere condolences, love and hugs go to the family left behind, thinking of you all at this difficult and very sad time xxxx
