Funeral Details: A celebration of life will be held at a later date
Manninen, Pauli Antero, of Barrie Ontario, passed away peacefully after a brief and courageous battle with cancer on November 17, 2020 at Hospice Simcoe, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Anneli Manninen, loving father of Tero Manninen (Trina) of Barrie and Tiia Manninen-Warren of Barrie.
Special Grandfather of Hayley, Hannah and Lily Manninen, and Maddison and Makayla Warren.
Pauli was born in Haukivouri Finland on August 27 1946, to Hilja and Kalle Manninen (both deceased) brother Tapani Hamalainen (deceased). Pauli immigrated to Canada in 1968. Pauli met his wife Anneli, shortly after arriving in Canada they went on to have a wonderful and successful marriage of 50 years. Pauli was an avid motocross racer and also loved watching his son Tero continue in his footsteps. Later in life Pauli enjoyed his time fishing and hunting, watching Formula 1 and spending time with his family and five grand daughters.
Pauli will be dearly missed by his brother and sister-in laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada and Finland. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded to the family through www.peacefultransition.ca

Posted on: Monday, November 23, 2020My sincerest condolences to Pauli’s family. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by many. He was kind, honest, funny, hard working, and absolutely dedicated to his family and friends. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I came to realize how much the countless hours I had spent in my youth around Pauli, and a few other wonderful men, would mould me into the husband and father I have become.

Our heartfelt sorrow on the passing of Pauli. He was a great friend and a good family man. His passing will leave a void in his family and friends lives. He was a hard worker. Raimo will miss him dearly. May he now rest in peace and be free of pain. Again our sincere condolences to all the family.

Olimme parhaita kavereita armeijan aikaan. Niinisalosta Turkuun, sitten Kajaaniin oli tiemme.Pauli houkutteli mukaansa Canadaan silloin 68 mutta en voinut . Joulukortti yhteydessä olimme vuosia.
