With sadness we announce the passing of Pauline McLagan, nee Guilbeault (March 25, 1935 - Thursday October 21, 2021) at age 86.  Pauline enjoyed life as a children’s nurse with Barrie RVH; a military wife, Mother and Grandparent.  Predeceased by her husband Bruce Elliott McLagan (1982), and her life partner Gerald McCarthy (2013).

Pauline will be missed by her children Catherine (Colin) Manson; David (Sue) McLagan; Diane (Gerrard) McRae; Christine (Tom) George.  Grandchildren include Kelly, Renee, Stuart, Colleen (Pete), Tim (Karen), Melissa, Ryan, Corri, Sabrina and Shawn.  Pauline’s extended family includes Bev (Paul) Foster; Tina (Al) Hitch; Darryl (Soroya) McCarthy; Anthony McCarthy.  Grandchildren include Jaclyn (Eric), Chloe (Josh, Lisa (James), Jamie, Owen and Korwyn. Great Grandchildren include Tyler, Katie, Aiden, Ashton, Evan, Venner, Finnley, Casey, and Halle.

Pauline was the oldest child of Norman and Jeanne Guilbeault of St. Joachim, Ontario. Siblings from St. Joachim and Windsor Ontario include Marcel (Connie) Guilbeault; Julie (Michael) Anderson; Patricia (Norman) Pinsonneault; and Helen (Michel) Chauvin and 13 nieces and nephews.

Mom’s interests included Figure Skating, 45year golfing history through Circle Pine Golf Course, CFB Borden, winning several championships.  She was active with the ANAF 365 unit in Barrie again participating in Provincial Golf tournaments and Dart Championships. Gerry and Pauline loved to travel including across Canada, out to Newfoundland and down to Santee, South Carolina and Florida for yearly golf trips.

We thank the staff of the Our Place, Barrieview Retirement Centre for the wonderful care and concern through her last 2 years. Donations would be greatly appreciated to the Barrie Army Navy Air Force Club 365 or the RVH Foundation, Barrie, Ont.

Internment Service will be Saturday October 30, 2021; 1:30 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Road, L4N 1H3. Following the service, family and friends are welcome to a Celebration of Life lunch at the ANAF, 52 Morrow Road, Barrie. L4N 3V8. Proof of double vaccine required for ANAF.
