Funeral Details: A Private Family Farewell.

Peggy Agnes Sharpe (nee Ainge)

May 17, 1923 London, England – February 28, 2021 Aurora, Ontario

Peacefully and with poise, Mum passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  That was her wish.  Family was everything to Mum.  Mum was a gentle soul, caring, always the peacemaker, facing everything with grace and quiet aplomb.  She loved being with people, and the bustle of activity.  Getting ready for a party with friends and family was always a highlight.  She was selfless, forever concerned about how others felt.  We never heard Mum say a bad word about anybody her entire life – that is the truth.  This world, undoubtedly, needs more people like Peggy Sharpe.

Mum grew up in Kentish Town, London, in a close knit family, filled with laughter and song.  She joined the WAAFs in 1942, at age 19, serving at Oakington, where she met the love of her life, Bob.  They were inseparable.  In 1952 they moved to Canada, and built a wonderful life, something that will live on forever through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Peggy was predeceased by her husband Bob (“Dean”), her sisters Eileen and Connie, and her brother Bert.  She is survived by her sister Helen.  Mum is also survived by her children David (Terry), Robert (Diane), Patti Peterkin (Brent) and Dianne Dick (David), grandchildren Gord (Elleneth), Amanda, Dan (Katie), Steven (Teresa), Julianne (Jordan), James (Monika), Jon (Maddie), Ali (Dave), Ben (Beth), Holly (Dave) and Robbie.  Great grandchildren are Grace, Nate, Isabel, Aiden, Liam, Ariana, Hannah, Miles, Howie, Marcus, and two who are excitedly waiting to hear about their Super Nan.

Mum, Nan, Super Nan you are going to be missed more than you could ever believe.  You are adored and an inspiration to us all.

Darryl & I wish to express our deepest condolences to all the family for this very sad loss. Auntie Peggy was such a dear person, beautiful smile, a beautiful human being. Our paths crossed 3 times, twice in Canada 1970 and 2019. Once in Australia when she and Uncle Bob visited us here. It was such privilege to have known her. RIP

Aunty Peggy was a unique woman in that she possessed all of the wonderful qualities you could wish for in a person. She enriched my life in a million ways and I am so grateful to have been part of her extended family. Generous, kind, and loving; she was beautiful inside and out. I will miss her greatly. A rock star, really.💜
