Penny McLeod

June 25, 1951 - June 21, 2020

Funeral Details:

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Penny Elizabeth McLeod (nee Jackson Sacerty) on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the age of 68, four days before her 69th birthday.  Penny is survived by her three children, Steve (Michelle), Sheree (Dave), and Rodney (Natasha) and her sister Denise (Terry).  She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Emma (Adam), Billy, Cassie, Sean, Rebecca, Jax and Emmett and her great-grandson Gavin.  Penny is a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Penny is known for her crafting and her culinary skills.  Her phenomenal cooking will be missed but her recipes will live on. Penny loved camping and spending time at the beach with her grandchildren.  She was a humble woman who seldom asked for help but was always first in line to lend a hand to anyone in need.  Penny worked for the Simcoe County District School Board until her retirement earlier this year.  She was a dedicated, lifelong employee working in the kitchen and as a custodian in Kincardine, Collingwood and Barrie.

We love you Mom, Granny, Gigi we miss you already.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking you to consider donating to Hospice Simcoe or the Canadian Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be made at www.peacefultransition.ca

Penny was an awesome lady. We were the “team” at Barrie North for many years. We sewed after school together and had many good talks. She will be missed in the halls and I will always remember her daily messages on the board outside the custodial office. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

She has shown us courage, determination and strength but above all she has shown us unconditional love. Not a day will go by that my thoughts won’t be of her, as the days pass I hope the tears turn to fondness rather than sorrow. So proud of you and the fight you put up #fuckcancer. Rest easy now, you deserve it xoxo
