Swann, Peter Anthony: Passed away unexpectedly at his home in Aurora on September 12, 2023, in his 59th year. Beloved brother of Antonia (Smudge) Swann (David Clipperton) of Toronto. Predeceased by his loving parents Anthony and Ann (Nee Hagopian). Pete was an accomplished music producer, mixing engineer, multi-instrumentalist (including guitar shredder extraordinaire), composer, lyricist, teacher, writer, arranger, video creator, comedian, animator, philosopher and political activist. He was a one-of-a-kind human who lived and breathed what he loved like no one else: music. He was fiercely independent, intellectual, warm and extremely modest. He was the best brother a sister could ask for.

A Memorial Service in memory of Pete will be held on Friday October 13th, 2023 at 11:00am at the Aurora Legion Branch 385, (105 Industrial Pkwy N, Aurora, ON) reception and inurnment to follow.

We’re missing you, Pete. You helped me get the music out of my head and into the studio to record. You helped me find my voice after major surgery.

I wish we could have written and recorded many more together.

Save me a seat at that big gig in the sky. Rest in peace brother.

I’ll always cherish the conversations we shared when we carpooled to Humber College together. It really made college fun.

Dear Smudge, Brenda and I are sorry for your loss. Pete was an original and I have countless fond memories of my time with him. He was an incredible musician in every sense and a great collaborator, but he was also a kind hearted, humble and genuinely good human. I miss him dearly but his presence lives on in all of us.

Sending all our love. We are deeply sorry for the tragic loss of Pete. I always hoped as cousins we would meet again and share Musical adventures with Smudgie. Always grateful for the musical composition Pete made for my MA. Clearly Pete was one of a kind and much loved as Smudgie has shared, who will be in our hearts always. Love Rachael, Tim, Molly and Edward xxx

Thinking of you all and remembering Pete as my cousin that I met when I was little at our grandmas house. Being overseas all our adult lives meant I never got to know you all. But being an artist I know our mutual creativity would have been amazing.
You are now with your mum and dad and also my dad, your uncle.
Love always from the Uk. Xx

So sorry for your loss, Smudge. I’m so saddened by Pete’s passing. I’m usually pretty balanced when a relative or friend passes away but I’m truly overcome this time. Pete was one of a kind. His talent had no bounds yet he was modest. Unpretentious and chill. Truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. Now that he’s gone I wish I had spent more time with him. I wish I had worked on more projects with him. I wish I could be sitting with him now. I wish.
    Take care Smudge.
