Passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023 at the Mt. Sinai Hospital in the arms of his sister Kelly, cousin Sharona, and dear friend Jason at the age of 53 years.  Loved son of the late Michael and Carmen.

Phillip endured a difficult battle with grace and positivity, never once complaining. He remained optimistic until the very end, even during over two years of a painful struggle.  Phillip was an incredibly kind, generous, and gentle man who will be remembered by many.

In addition to his admirable character, Phillip had a hilarious sense of humor that brought joy to those around him.  He was loved by many for his sweet and gentle nature, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Phillip will be forever remembered as a shining example of strength, grace, and kindness in the face of adversity.

Please join us for some food and drinks to share our respect and celebrate our fond memories of Phillip “P.J.” on Saturday May 27, 2023 from 1-5 pm at The Monarch Tavern www.themonarchtavern.com, 12 Clinton St. Toronto, ON. All are welcome.

My deepest condolences to all who knew him. For those of us who have formed such a tight community on YouTube, we were bound to begin to lose new friends at some point. I will have a toast to Phillip’s memory this evening.

I “only” knew him from our YouTube community as ” Son of Red Shirt” but he was always warm and welcoming and will be missed. Condolences to those who knew him… To his family and friends who knew him in real life, know a community of hundreds, maybe more, grieve with you from across the world.

I knew him online as Son of a red shirt and most everyone calls me AVP which he always referred to me as this.

He was a wonderful delight to see him in chats and to share laughter and smiles together.

He had a sweet smile and tender heart for everyone in the online community on YouTube.

He even helped donate to a gofundme campaign I had which was a wonderful kind gesture.

While we lost touch, I always looked forward to seeing his comments in my various streams and videos.

He will be sorely missed terribly.

My deepest condolences and sympathy for his friends and family during this time.

I’m glad I got to know him as well as I did hanging out on YouTube streams and I wish I could have known him more. The kindness will be remembered. I’ll miss hearing BirdOPrey5 loudly exclaim his YouTube name, “Son Of A Redshirt!”, before reading his witty comments. Sending love and condolences and thanks for the positivity.

Sadly I only met him a few times during streams, yet he always struck me as clever and conversatonal. I rarely heard a negative word from him and he always felt like a welcome presence when he could join us.

In memory of PJ, a cousin so dear,
Whose laughter and antics brought endless cheer.
A quirky soul with a heart full of jest,
Now a memory cherished, forever impressed.

PJ, the jester with a mischievous grin,
Always ready with a joke, a witty spin.
He lit up the room with his humorous rhyme,
Making us laugh, every single time.

He bought me a skateboard, a treasure untold,
A symbol of freedom, a story to unfold.
I soared on the streets, his spirit by my side,
Carving memories together, a thrilling ride.

In every trick and flip, you felt his presence,
A reminder that life should be lived with essence.
    PJ’s playful spirit forever remains,
Inspiring me to skate through life’s ups and downs, with no restraints.

Though he’s no longer here in physical form,
His spirit dances with each passing storm.
In memories shared and stories we tell,
PJ’s humor and love forever dwell.

So let us remember him, with laughter and cheer,
Embrace the joy he brought, hold it near.
For PJ, the jester, may he rest in peace,
His legacy lives on, bringing smiles never to cease.

Phillip was a most sweet and loving man. He made time for everyone, and made a positive difference in all the lives he touched. Even here, where we have had not much contact lately, he is remembered with great fondness and love. We do miss his love for a full English breakfast, and the best fish and chips in the city!

With much sadness, Maggie, Kit (Franziska) and Sabrina

One of the most positive voices we had on Youtube was Son of a Redshirt or as I know now, Phillip. He was complimentary and encouraging while also managing to be able to tease you humorously, which requires a great balancing act to achieve. What I admire most from him is how he spent the time to pay attention to nearly everyone, and would remember as much about them as he knew movies and the actors who starred in them. I may have not known him very well, and all my sympathies to his friends and family, but I did know that he was always an immense joy to have around, and when he wasn’t on your livestream panel, you considered yourself lucky he decided to share in your chat because he was very knowledgeable, kind, considerate, and funny. So many people already miss him. Myself included. He was a shining example to anyone.
