Richard will definitely be missed by the residence at 200 Dora Spencer Rd. He was always so helpful in his duties at the building, assisting where he was able. I heard that he was one of the first to live at this building. I’ll never forget our talks in the hallway, on the elevator and on the phone. He was a lovely, spirited man who loved his family. Every time he talked about his family, he had a smile on his face. It was an honor to know him and to meet his family at the retirement party that was held at our building. Even though he had hurt his arm, he loved that moment of family, friends and residence being together. He had a great time:) Richard will forever be remembered by the residents here. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the family, friends and residents of 200 Dora Spencer Rd. He will be sorrowfully missed. Thank you Richard for your work, your dedication and your essence. You will remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers for years to come.

My condolences to Richard’s family and to all who knew him as a friend. For over twenty-five years, I knew Richard as a neighbour at 200 Dora Spencer. While many only got to see the ‘all too serious’ side as Richard went about his duties as the back-up superintendent in and around the building, I got the privilege of seeing the kindness of his heart especially when he helped me finish setting up my bedroom furniture all those years ago. From time to time, I would see Richard describing his latest exploits from a day trip to the Casino or sharing laughter over a cup of coffee with a couple of friends. Whenever I got the chance to chat with him, he would usually reply in a very truthful manner and yet he would have a smile as he talked about his family. It is with these memories, these small gestures of kindness which I will honour him. Richard will be missed by many, myself included.
