It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard Morton Buchanan “Ricky” who passed away peacefully on December 30th, 2024, at the age of 68.

 

Richard was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, and later resided in Innisfil, Ontario.  Ricky is survived by his two brothers, David and Roger.

He was predeceased by his Father, Morton “Buck” Buchanan, his Mother, Shirley Buchanan, and his two brothers Darryl and Andrew.  Ricky was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

 

Richard is remembered for his passion for bowling, his sportscar, music, his devotion to family, his laugher, jokes, and for his unconditional love for his dogs Betty and Louie.  Richard was a hard worker who could make many smile with his jokes.

 

Ricky will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

 

A private family service is to follow.

    Rick.
    My earliest memory of you was getting a scratch ticket. I was 4 or 5 and did not understand why you gave me a piece of paper rather than a toy. I rallied my cousin to attack you . You let us beat on you for what seemed like the entire evening. You were definitely the cool uncle. Granted I’ve only seen you like 20 times in my life you were positive and fun in my mind always. I hope your at peace thanks for all the laughs.

    Btw I never won any of your scratchers..
